Brad, 3 December 2025. FEPRA marks an important step for the town of Brad and for Romania's recycling infrastructure with the inauguration of the new PET and glass recycling units developed here. The new plants are a strategic investment in the economic development of the Brad–Hunedoara region, which has been hit hard in recent decades by industrial restructuring and labour migration.
The official opening, held on 1 December in the presence of local authority representatives, symbolically underlined the link between the country's sustainable future and the prioritising of investment in green industries.
"We wanted the new industrial park in Brad to be more than recycling infrastructure and to become a development model based on the circular economy, able to create local chains with a real positive impact in communities. The choice of the area is no accident: it has an industrial tradition, but also a history of many economic and social challenges. Through the two PET and glass recycling plants and the future textile line, we aim to show that the circular economy can create jobs, bring stability and generate added value."

The FEPRA circular-economy industrial park in Brad includes:
- a PET recycling plant, with a production capacity of up to 3,000 tonnes/month, equipped with state-of-the-art European technology for producing PET flakes to the highest standards;
- a glass packaging recycling plant, with a capacity of up to 2,300 tonnes/month, fitted with high-performance equipment that produces cullet of the best quality.
The two units will generate 56 new jobs in the Brad–Hunedoara area (48 in the PET plant and 8 in the glass plant), contributing to the economic revival of a region that needs stable, long-term investment.
The project confirms the area's potential to become an important regional hub of the recycling industry and shows that the circular economy can bring concrete benefits: investment, new jobs and less pressure on the environment.
The new recycling lines will contribute significantly to:
- increasing the national PET and glass recycling capacity;
- developing local and European circular chains;
- reducing the quantities of waste landfilled and the pressure on natural resources;
- training a new generation of recycling specialists by developing technical skills.
In addition to these investments, FEPRA is preparing to develop a dedicated textile recycling line within the circular economy, to be integrated in the same industrial park. This expansion responds to an urgent European need for sustainable management of textile waste and will create new economic opportunities for the local community.
Through the investments in Brad, FEPRA consolidates its position as a one-stop shop for the circular economy, covering the whole chain: consulting, services for meeting environmental obligations, collection, digital traceability and recycling, through to the production of secondary raw materials.
