The circular economy starts in the community.
FEPRA supports the Green Planet Association (Asociația Planeta Verde) and, through it, gets involved in environmental education and separate-collection projects: workshops in schools, textile containers, collection points on the beach and national conferences. The association brings the people and the ideas; we bring the infrastructure and the experience.
The partnership
What each side brings.
The Green Planet Association is a non-governmental organisation founded in 2010 that runs environmental conferences, awareness campaigns and local separate-collection projects. Among its achievements: 50 national and international conferences, a Waste Museum, a play for children ("Gunoiul și Ghiocelul") and the "Recycling Movement", a petition for separate collection in every locality. Infrastructure
The containers, transport, sorting and recycling in the association's projects run through the FEPRA group: collection, digital traceability and recycling in our own plants. The textiles gathered in EcoTextile, for instance, go to the FEPRA Nord platform in Buftea.
People
FEPRA colleagues go into schools, to workshops and to the association's events. Mihaela Papazu, our circular-economy manager, is also the association's executive director. [TBD: confirm the role and the number of volunteering colleagues]
Expertise
More than a decade of experience in packaging-waste management feeds the association's conferences and public positions: from the deposit return system to the new obligation to collect textiles separately, in force since 1 January 2025.

The projects
Where we get involved.
EcoTextile
Since 2025: containers for used clothes and textiles in Mogoșoaia, Corbeanca, Chitila and at our Oregon Park office, plus a collection contest between the schools of Buftea, with sports equipment as prizes. In the first year: 20 tonnes of textiles collected and sorted - 40% reused directly, 25% repaired or upcycled, 15% downcycled, 20% recovered as energy. Together with EVE Fashion and UNArte.
First-year report (RO) ↗Environmental education in schools
Since 2024: interactive workshops in schools and kindergartens in Buftea, Pantelimon and Berceni: how to sort waste correctly, what everyday gestures do to the environment and the journey of a package from the bin to a new product. Children become "little ambassadors of sustainability" and take the habits home. Teachers who want a workshop in their school can write to the association.
About the programme (RO) ↗EcoWave
Summer 2024: an automated collection point for deposit-return (DRS) packaging on Zanzibar beach in Năvodari, launched on 26 June 2024 together with the Ministry of Environment, Waters and Forests: a model for small retailers and local authorities in the first year of the deposit return system.
About EcoWave (RO) ↗Conferences and the Recycling Movement
The association has organised 50 national and international conferences. The latest: "Textiles in Romania: between the EU Directive and national implementation", on 31 March 2026 at the Romanian Senate, with the environment committees of both chambers and the European Commission. In parallel, the "Recycling Movement" gathers signatures for separate collection in every locality.
All projects (RO) ↗The association also runs projects of its own, outside the partnership with FEPRA: EcoVrac, bulk detergent in Carrefour stores, and "People for rivers, rivers for people", with 100 water analyses from the rivers and lakes of Bucharest-Ilfov.
